Tinymediamanager no thumbnails4/30/2023 ![]() TMDB should be a quality source for media releases, preserving how they were released. The issue I see as a user is that TMDB is not always a good source for these images, as you never know which were user altered and which are original. I only store original artwork, nothing altered. As I phase out that software as they left the FOSS community, I am maintaining that in my own database. The UI adjusts wonderfully to the slight variations in cover sizes. One software that does very well at accommodating this is tMM (Tiny Media Manager). But would it not be possible to have something like the thumbnail image (the one displayed where the 1:1.5 is desired, and then the actual image, one that is not altered? it is easier to create things when you have a set size for a variable image. I do understand the technical reasons for things like this. Yes it is still suitable and most would never even know, but it is still an altered image, not matching what the creators of the movie released. The cover I edited to match the requirements is cropped. So, why would a site that has intent to archive releases as they were released not allow content as it was originally released? ![]() If they want to release it in a CD sized case with a square cover, they certainly can. who are we to dictate that the creators make as a cover? If they want a CD produced in a case that is the size of DVD and a cover of such size, they sure can do that. My question, proposed in a mindset of archiving media releases. I went through a similar discussion over at MusicBrainz on the coverart of albums, where individuals stated that covers must be square. I did edit the poster to make it the 1:1.5 that TMDB wants, but I am discouraged by this practice. It did take it, but it does not display correctly. The problem that I have is that I uploaded the original sized poster, which is not an exact for to TMDB's required 1:1.5.
